The St. Bernard Port, Harbor & Terminal District hosted its second annual guided tour of its Chalmette and Arabi Terminals on June 1 to highlight the facilities’ positive economic impact on St. Bernard.

For the past six years, local maritime leaders have recognized the region’s rich maritime history and honored its hardworking men and women by celebrating “Maritime Month” each May to coincide with National Maritime Day on May 22.
The St. Bernard Port, Harbor & Terminal District will join in the month-long celebration by hosting its second annual guided tour of its Chalmette and Arabi Terminals to highlight the facilities’ positive economic impact on St. Bernard, said Port Executive Director Drew Heaphy.

St. Bernard Port, Harbor & Terminal District is reporting another successful year with record tonnage despite the economy still being affected by covid-19, Executive Director Drew Heaphy said.
Now Hiring: Security Guards (Part-Time)
St. Bernard Port, Harbor and Terminal District seeks to fill a part-time Security Guard positions. Persons applying will be responsible for maintaining security at all Terminals by controlling access in and out of the facilities, preventing crime and vandalism and providing traffic and parking controls. Security Guards work revolving shifts. Applicants need a valid U.S. Driver’s License to apply and must meet the requirements to acquire a TWIC card. Applications may be completed at the Port office located at 100 Port Boulevard, 3rd Floor, Chalmette, La. or online at stbernardport.com/career-opportunities.
